Volunteering with the GLO Project means working alongside local South African team members and community members who have been doing this work for years. You'll gain an honest, ground-level view of what it looks like to address poverty through dignity, creativity, and long-term investment — not short-term charity.
Whether you spend a week or a month with us, our volunteers consistently tell us it's one of the most formative experiences of their lives. We'd love to have you.
Volunteer days vary based on the season and need, but here's a typical picture of what you'll be doing.
Help with daily operations at our farm locations — planting, harvesting, feeding animals, building infrastructure. No experience needed.
Join our GLO:Outreach team for after-school sessions and holiday programs. Show up with energy, patience, and a willingness to invest in kids.
Have professional skills to contribute? We welcome those in communications, construction, agriculture, education, or other areas of expertise.
“In the short amount of time that I was able to spend with the GLO House, I was privileged to experience such a special bond. Each child was radiant with gratitude for everything that they have been given because of this organization.”
